So they would fit just wouldnt be able to see the tips?
Or should I just get mufflers from a SS ute?

Keep in mind that the rears from a manual SS are different to the ones from an AFM model. The afm has a single exit with the quad tips being made by a y pipe while the manual rears have true dual outlets. The manual ones will be slightly louder

My MY10 M6 SSV Sportwagon had the y pipe mufflers. I think Holden made a running change but not sure from when.

But this might of been just on the wagons.

I've got spare Maloo rear mufflers and SS Ute rears.

I had the Maloo rears on my 2008 Manual SV6 Ute, barely a note change. Tiny bit of a grumble in low gears. Look heaps better though.
