Hey guys I'm looking at buying a VX/ VY sedan and I would like to get an SS but my mates are telling me I would be better off buying just the S model. How much difference is there between the SS and the S? (besides the fact that one is an 8 and the other a 6)

Use all your brains and work it out :p

Are your mates into cars at all? Sounds like something my girlfriend would say to me.

Bigger wheels and fog lights in front bumper spring to mind. Interior style might be a bit different too.

V8 will cost you more to run and maintain than the V6 obviously

The S is kind of like kissing your sister. Nomatter how hot she may be - she's still your sister.

Allot!!!!!! Are you after a V8? I was told when I bought my VY S (now have a VZ SS) that the S was just the same as the SS but doesn't have a V8 buy the dealer. Well they're not! The S's don't come standard with a LSD, 6 stacker, spot lights (in VYII), 18's and a couple other little things. Allot of people did choose these options when they bought them though.

If your after a car that looks the goods and can still but a grin on your face go the S ....... If your after that v8 thrill then definitely go the SS. Just go test drive the two and you will be able to make up your mind.

O and the V8's eat as much fuel as everyone says, my vy did around 8l/100 on the freeway and my VZ SS does around 9.5l/100.

This. There is a BIG difference in how those cars drive, go try some out and see what you like

And as always, don't impulse buy the first thing that pops up.

Get the SS. I had a V6 VS, then purchased a VX SS. Once you drive one you will love it, I never want to own another 6.
