Hi,

Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask this. Looking to buy a SSV S2 wagon.
How many km am I looking at for a tank? I know it will vary between drivers, just want to get a general idea.

Currently have a VZ exec wagon and I get about 450 per tank.

Cheers

We have a series 2 SS sportwagon auto and mixed between round town driving and highway the current average is 11.5L per 100km. I only occasionally punch it though. Most of the time it's driven fairly gently.

Cheers

59.1km/h average for "mixed between round town driving and highway"??? That is quite a high speed for around town! How much would you say is highway and how much around town? I'd say that is about a 80% Highway/20% around town?

Only reason being is that my "around town" average speed is 40km/h if I'm lucky, during a normal work week (over summer and when I have appointments etc its higher as I can hit the freeways)! It's been as low as 28km/h which means that I'm sitting in traffic doing a whole lot of nothing for most of the time :(

On my 2500km old SSV Redline Sedan M6 (stock) I have the following so far;
Fuel #KM/h #L/100 L/100
92 42.1 14.9 14.49
98 50.0 13.3 13.02
98 52.0 13.4 12.78
e85 67.3 13.9 13.70
98 40.3 15.0 14.36
e85 45.0 16.5 (currently)

The figures with the # are the car's indicated figures where the right hand most column is the actual litres in/km travelled worked out manually.

Interesting that the computer consistently overstates the fuel used.

Yes, I found that with the VY II SS 6m I had also, the computer always said it was worse than it was. Could be that it is a guestimate based on an inaccurate fuel pickup in a constantly moving tank of juice...or could be the servo's bowsers are short changing me?

Well our SS only comes out on weekends maybe once every 5 weeks we drive to Wollongong to visit family. The rest of the driving is down to the shops, over to a mates place and stuff like that. But to be brutally honest I don't thrash the car. It's a cruising machine for us. Maybe that's why my fuel usage is low?

I find these threads ironic.

If you're concerned about fuel economy, do not purchase a V8.
