wait a minute, how much does that car cost again?

Go find a Mercedes that makes 400hp and costs less the a house. :)
That's what GM is good at. (And Ford also.)

Of course they are great motors, but for 100k the ZR1 is beating cars much higher then it's price. I have nothing against pushrods, alluding to the fact that many here think its outdated, yet its beating many cars with much higher tech..

The land speed record is held by a pushrod motor also. Something like a 9.9l TT V8. :D

I think you'll find the ZR1 likes going around corners.
Youtube the review Jeremy Clarkson did.

It's a massive misconception that Yanky cars don't handle. Yes some don't but look at the price range the cars that DON"T handle fall in.

With the Lambo, you're paying for the badge. Much the same deal with Mercedes.

    Chev isn't as prestegious.

You can build the 6.2 or even the 6.0 to make more power N/A then the AMG engines but it'll sure cost you!

Case in point years ago I built a 1972 Fire Bird with what started out life as a 400 (6.6liter) Pontiac engine then I had it bored out so all 8 cylinders could be sleeved and except 455 (7.5 liter) pistons. Then throw in TONS of machine work and a spin ballanced bottom end to 15,000 rpm and the end result was a big block Pontiac that displaced just about 428 (7.0 liters) and made a dyno tested 567hp and 632ft lbs of tq AT the rear wheels. With a full interior and in street trim the car would run high 10's at 137mph and had a top speed as certified at Daytona National raceway of 197mph.

    God I miss that car!!!!

At calder friday night drags i saw this exact scenario.
A bloke came in his AMG in a suit, probably straight from work. It was his first time.
He went up against a VE SSV that looked and sounded like it had some money spent on it, judging by the idle it had a cam and exhaust.
The AMG smashed it off the line and all the driver had to do was plant the accelarator.
