My stability control switch has been stuck for ages – I never use it in any case.

But recently the 'check engine' lights are on 100% of the time and my mechanic just scanned it – and the error comes up 'stability control switch.

What are the steps to get the console top removed so I can change out the switch? (Any special tools needed?)

    Cheers

    See this.....from about 0.33 onwards.

Just don't use a screw driver as you will likely scratch / damage the plastic.

Best to use a plastic trim removal tool like this

    Thanks – looks simple enough.

Assuming the switch is bad, where's the best place to get another?

The Plastic Trim Removers work perfectly, as the screw drivers leave blade marks on the trim.
