    Hey All,
Having a problem with my vn ss stalling then not starting once it has stalled.
It stalls when i lift the foot off the gas to brake at lights. It also does it when doing u-turns, wheel full lock in stationary position. It idles at 850-900rpm has a 284 Crane cam with a 2800 stall and have replaced the IAC valve and given tb a good clean. I was thinking that i would need to up the idle but i dont want to do that unless i have to because i have to go for an vehicle inspection soon and dont want it idling too high. My emissions report was also taken at 850rpm so i cant really go any higher than that. Could this have something to do with the tune?
Next problem: Once it stalls i cant start it. Just turns over twice slowly then dies. The battery is a yr old, the starter is brand new and the alternator checks out ok. The cars starts fine every time but once it stalls it never starts even with the thermo fans disconected. The car has been sitting around for a while and driven probly 30k's every three or so months also keep the battery diconected when not in use.
    What do you think?
    Cheers,
    Dan

mine does the same occaisionally, but i think thats got something to do with flooding from a dicky regulator...its not always there but comes and go as it pleases and once it stalls it just trys to strt until i give it some throttle then some fuel smoke cloud comes out the back for a second then runs fine for a few days or even a week or 2.

MMM Interesting. Do you think the stalling problem could be because i dont hold the rpm to 3k when starting for the IAC to reset? (as battery is disconected) I hold it a 2thou rpm for about 10sec when i first start because the top end is a little ticky at first start up. Thinking of getting it up to running temp then disconnecting the battery then reset IAC as it should be.
