Standard v8 convertor stall speed?

Pretty sure mine is 3000 stall. Bloke was saying anything much less and its probably not worth it and might as well go stock. He was also saying that shorter gears will also bring the stall down. So if you go 3000 then its good because with shorter gears it doesn't comprise the stall. If i have that right lol? I still don't get stall converters and how they work even though it was explained to me.

Torque converters work on load so changing either the amount of power put into the converter or the load applied behind it will alter the stall speed at it's most basic level.

Reckon 3k stally for a daily is the go.

For a weekender 3500 or more...got 4500 stally in vh that drove so nice on the street although think it would be be better off with 5000-5500 stally if it ever makes it's way to wsid with slicks.

Well made convertors you barely notice the difference driving normally untill you hit the gas pedal on the go...

Bloke who built mine did a good job. It is smooth as. Trans feels really nice since fitting the remanufactued convertor. I was expecting a little more snapines but no, changes up really well. I need to try overtaking but haven't had a chance as everyone has been sitting on the limit during the times where I can actually sink the boot. Don't know if the new convertor has made a diff to the exhaust noise but it sounds pretty good now for a V6. It actually has a slight note that wasn't really there before. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying it sounds anything like a nice 304.
