Starter motor cable connection access

Any hints to make access for removing the cable off the starter for cleaning. Nothing I have seem to fit in there. It is easier to remove the starter? Thanks for any hints.

Remove the starter there is a serious lack of room on the V6.

A bit late I know. I removed the starter, cleaned the terminals and now it starts like a Singer sewing machine when it is hot. Only had to remove the brace on teh gear box to get the starter out.

ah those stupid engine to trans braces are an absolute pain, especially on the drivers side with the steering rack knuckle area.
