    i just need to know if a vr starter motor will fit in a vs ecotec coz i got plenty of vrs sitting around but my vss starter motor died so i was thinking of just using a vr 1. will they fit.

    Pull it off and check side by side with the VR one - if the VS one is buggered it has to come off anyway.

    Yes it should fit, assuming that your car is auto. Both the VR and VS auto starters have the same part number from Bosch, BXH139.
