Hi everyone,

I'm new to the forum, i have run a search and checked the stickies for an answer to my problem but couldn't find anything.
Long story short I'm have been having issues with my vy berlina over the last week. Initially it just died out on me and now it starts every now and then but will not run for very long. I don't actually have an error code coming up so I can check the code. I'm thinking fuel pump is on it's way out that's why it might be starting and then stalling but then i have also been told that it could be a timing issue?? Could someone shed some light on this please.

Cheers.

Thanks for the reply. If the engine light is not coming on, would i still have an error code stored on the ecu? Thanks for the link and I will definitely try the cold water trick.
I have also read that if the crank angle sensor is faulty it will shut off like the key is turned off but allow 10-15 minutes for it to cool again and it will start again, would that be accurate. That would explain why it's starting after sitting for a while.
Correct me if i'm wrong but if it was the fuel pump it would idle roughly before turning off due to the car struggling to get enough fuel?
Is it possible to verify that it is the crank angle sensor prior to replacing apart from the cold water trick (eg. a multimeter)?
