My VS V6 was missing so I called lube mobile as I know nothing about electronic ignition. Told it was a faulty dfi and given quote to replace. When I recovered from the shock I decided to try replacing myself and picked up a unit from the local wrecker. Replaced parts OK but now the car won't start at all. Tried cleaning contacts and disconnected battery for 10 seconds to reset the computer. Is there any way I can test the used dfi and is this the correct method for resetting the computer? When I turn the key on without cranking I can here a ticking noise coming from the top of the motor. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

see if your battery is flat for a start and test for battery voltage when trying to crank and with the ignition off

Thanks for the suggestion. Battery is fine. Put the original dfi module back in and the car started no problems but still missing so I assume the used dfi is faulty. I have ordered a new unit that should hopefully recitfy the problem.
