I just got a VS II Stato, the drivers door seal is stuffed, I have one from a VS Berlina in good condition, I was wondering if it will fit the Stato? Thought I'd ask you guys before pulling the old one off. Also it has a problem with the climate control unit, sometimes if it is a wet or humid day it won't turn on when I start the car and takes an undetermined time to come to life, any ideas what the problem is? Finally, was lsd an option on the v8's, and what ratio are they? Any help is much appreciated
The font doors are the same, so it will fit, as for the rest, someone else can help you with that Taking donations of cash, card or full frontal nudity.
1. Yes Door seal will fit. 2. Never heard of that one before, sorry. 3. LSD was an option on the V8's as the standard 3.08 ratio
2. replace lamp check relay under bonnet, climate control draws power from there, had the problem in my vr calais climate control would work when it wants to
Well to start with it needs to be dropped a few inches, I'm thinking ultra low king springs with lowered Monroe gt's. I would also like a set of 17" 100 spokes with white walls for it, that will be pretty much it as far as cosmetics go, maybe a darker tint too. I want to put a stage 2 cam in it, extractors, hi flow cats and better cold air induction, bigger injectors, get a memcal customised for my setup, full manual auto, 3.9 LSD. Just want to keep it simple and drivable. It has full leather, the rear half of interior is immaculate, front seats need some tlc il just replace them. I have a nice Sony system that il be installing this weekend with kicker sub and amp, never really used subs in the past but I have one in my vy ss and the bass kick drums in my favourite metal albums sound sooo good I can't imagine not having a sub from now on haha
Sounds prefect. Look forward to see what prograss. I love a dark tint too. Sounds good about the SOny system and also some mods for engine sure sounds good. Shall start VR-VS Thread about your ride?
I would be doing what I am planning to do with my statesman, bag it. King springs will take away all the comfortable ride of the statesman and make it harsh and bumpy......up to you in the end but kind of defeats the purpose of having a luxury car and taking away all the ride comfort. I know many of the younger blokes on the forum will disagree as king springs are "hektic" and yes it will look great, but will ruin your smooth and comfortable ride
I have the setup I mentioned in my vs berlina and it rides pretty well, I will consider it tho, bags need to be engineered huh? Any idea how much that would cost?
Depends on your state if they need to be engineered...If you get the kit supplied and fit by a airbag specialist they usually take car of all that. Price depends on the kit, the fully adjustable one I am looking at that has remotes in the cabin, fully concealed fiberglass enclosure in the boot so the tanks aren't visible etc is around $2K installed. Not many suspension mods are legal in the police's eyes (well in SA anyways)
