Well I did beat my friends EL falcon with my VR, both 6's and mine had more k's. Both pretty stock, but I would have thought the falcon would beat me because it had 20kw's more then me.

maybe he cant drive its not just the car its the driver also he might not have floored it for fear being caught by the cops dragging a mate attracts alot of attention i dragged a vq statesman 5lt in my vn ss off the lights and he beat me but id say his was probably heavily modified or stroked my ss is stock and the fact i was abit too quick off the line i lost traction for a second

The fairmonts (i think they ran the same specs) 165kw @4500 and 388 @3000for the V8

The I6 was 162 @ 4900 and 361 @ 3000 (this was an enhanced 6 motor)

Also I'm assuming your mate had a 4sp Auto in his Falcon, they're bad enough without the fact that the Falcon is always heavier than the Commodore.

front doors, dash, rear parcel shelf and in the roof. thats for a caprice not sure if the statesman came with an 8 speaker stereo system

found a little article on a vq vs a fairlane of the same year VQ was an 8 and fairlane was a 6 though. vq standing qtr 16.29. Fairlane standing qtr 17.66

Stock ef 4.0L will beat a V8 Statesman, cos i have many times.
The Fairlanes are heavy, 1,600-1,700kg i reckon it would be close with a statesman imo.
