Steering locks itself randomly whilst driving

Actually "locked" steering will mean you cannot turn the wheel at all, no matter how hard you try.

We have all heard the story about towing a car. The person in the second car sits there to steer and brake, but on the first corner they realise the brakes have no assistance and the steering locks because no key.

It needs a new rack. Take it to the dealer and leave it there until it's done. Life is too precious.

Why did you feel the need to create a new thread when there is already one about this issue.

I was a confused about that too. It means there are two threads and BOTH are incorrectly titled. should be LOSS OF POWER ASSISTED STEERING, rather than sensationalising it with Steering Locked Up randomly.

This is definitely a story for Tracey Grimshaw on a Current Affair, give her a call or just say "Tracey Grimshaw" out loud 3 times.
