steering rack issue

can some explain to me why there is a one way valve located in one of the banjo bolts going to the rack on these VE's?

second question: the smaller of the 2 threads is the low pressure return, yes?

third question, would it be possible to pop rack end seals if that banjo bolt/check valve wasnt fitted? and if so why?

ok try this then.... if i add the bolt with the one way valve, it no longer pops the steering rack seals, it just locks the steering. i mean TIGHT. motor off goes lock to lock smooth as silk, motor on locked. cant budge it.

help.

I have no knowledge at all of any use. But if it at all helps I have a .pdf from the G8 that covers the steering and should be able to email that to you if it may be of any use.
