    Hi,how does one check the steering rack for excessive wear ?, i checked the tie-rods theres a little bit of movement ,not to bad, but at 70kmh a wobble in the steering wheel turns up and goes away again (almost) AT ABOUT 90 KMH, thanks.........

    sounds like you could need a wheel balance too.

    Tie rod ends are an easy and cheap change over job. Steering rack.. hmmm, wouldn't know myself.

    hi, had another good look all round, the tie rods, ball joints are not to bad but i think the rack has a bit of play in it,i suppose its o'k' for the age of the car , the problem seems to be a left front tyre with flat spots and lumps in it (bloody retreads), so i swaped it for the old spare and its miles better !!, thanks........

    p.s. by the way the lhs tie rod rubber boot is split right through the middle( in half) , anybody know a quick fix ?., thanks........
