Steering Wheel Airbag Fault

Discussion in 'VY Holden Commodore (2002 - 2004)' started by acclaimwagonvy2, Aug 25, 2006.

  1. Hi All. Virgin poster here.

I have just replaced my standard acclaim steering wheel in my VY to a leather wheel. I may not have done thbis correctly as I am now getting an error message "saying SRS Fault" Does anyone know how to correct the fault?

I see the below comment from another post but I was wondering if I could clear the fault myself?

"Take for a test drive and make sure wheel is straight. (Don’t be tempted to test drive with no airbag connected, as you will log an airbag fault, which will have to be removed by Holden"

    Thanks in advance
    Scott

Have moved this to the VY section for you, might be a bit more appropriate there.....

The only way to clear the fault is to take it to Holden.

I had the same problem for a while but it was caused by removing the passenger seat! (side airbags). From talking to a couple of people here, it can cost anywhere from $0 to $70.

I just got it cleared at the same time I was getting a service. They tried to hit me up for $70 but I argued it, so they did it free of charge. It's literally a 2 minute job...

Mods - maybe you should move this to the VY section?

EDIT: You beat me to it vystorm!!
