I'm having a slight issue with my steering wheel after replacing the audio controls.

yes for those that will ask did i put it back on properly i did and no the car does not need a wheel alignment

    here is my situation.

before this, my s/w was relatively straight when the tyres were but now they s/w is 90 deg anti-clockwise to where it was.

this pic will give you an idea.

    any help/info would be appreciated

To my understanding when u put the wheel on, the splines on the shaft havent matched up or u have done the nut up tight enough.
Therefore ur s/w is going to spin on the shaft.

I cant think of anything else.

yeh it sounds like the splines arent matched up.

can I ask why did you remove the wheel completely? The airbag/horn comes out and your able to jimmy the cables through the plastic covers without removing it.

I would be getting your wheels straight

    then remove the wheel

then put the wheel back on straight

sounds simple but try it, somethings gone funny.

Another tip, before you remove a steering wheel put a line of liquid paper across the splies and shaft, that way when you go to re-match it up you have a reference.

Yeah it would still turn the tyres, its just that it will move over the splines rather than sitting in between them as it should.

i removed the wheel completely so i could paint the spokes.

i will attack it later on today.

once the wheels are straight i'll get holden to clear the srs fault.

i forgot to plug the airbag back in.
