Hey all the new six stacker I want to install into the Adventra rejects the PIN number supplied. Ive got the cars chassis number that it came out of. 1 Holden parts depo told me if I can provide them enough info about the original car they'll give me the code, yeah no worries, things like VIN number, make, model, year, colour etc. Being in parts I know the VIN brings up the radio code, but also the cars details such as these plus where it was brought, when it was last serviced by your dealership etc, so its pretty easy to scare off a theif when you start asking "when was the last time you had it services here" But their link went down - sorry ring Monday Another hung up on me A third told me to wait, 30 mins later I hung up on them My mate who works at the nearest dealership to my work doesnt work Saturdays (their parts depo is closed) The last told me I need to bring in the original car, rego papers, licence and purchase papers from the dealership to prove I own the radio. But the thing is the guy who sold it to me swears its the correct code and told me he'll even team up with me at the local Holden dealership next weekend to have it sorted. But my question is why would it be rejecting the PIN? Its VY to VZ, surely this doesnt make a difference? I am replacing the standard single disc to 6 stacker. Also we replaced our steering wheel and now our original one doesnt play down the right hand side speakers at all and the wheel controls dont work. We dont have the radio in 100% (so we can pull it out and put the 6 stacker in) so we've settled for hoping the connecters arent connected properly at the back Any ideas?
When you say it rejects the PIN what is on the display ? its obviously the wrong number then. the Database holden use is only good if the numbers are updated when units are changed, you will need to get the serial number off the unit & have a dealer fax it to Holden to confirm the correct number PM me all the details you have & i will fax it on monday for you. i will need the original VIN & the SN off the H.U. & the pin you were given Cheers Rob
Y2KGoofball, you cant just swap the unit over as the security code is also linked to the BCM, so you will have to take the car into holden so they can reprogram the BCM to accept the new 6 stack unit, then the security code will work and all will be fine. Enjoy.
oh ok I didnt know that  Thats probably why its rejecting it then :b: Oh well I'll look at having that done then when it goes in for its first service.
