hello i would like to install a wicked setup in my ride how much should i look at out laying for a decent setup cheers for your help who has a good setup in there car for around 2000
What about some fully sick fusion or sony xplod gear man, the guy down the road in his excel says they're wicked.
yeah i was going to look into the fusion subs but not sure about speakers, was going to go with alpine
We'll just ignore that first post I made.. Ok there are 5 things you are going to want for a good setup: 1.) Headunit (with 3 pre-outs... Front, Rear, Sub) 2.) 6.5" Splits for the front 3.) 6" Co-axials for rear fill on the parcel shelf 4.) Sub(s) 5.) Amp(s) So first up, the headunit (which I wont include in the 2000 budget as its likely you have one already). You probably already have one, but if it does not have 3 pre-outs i'd suggest getting a new one. Pioneer is the best bet for a good headunit in my opinion. The cheapest Pioneer model with 3 pre-outs is the DEH-P4950MP which sells at most stores for around $250. However, my suggestion would be the DEH-P5950IB for the extra features and better aesthetics but it sells for around $400. 2.) 6.5" Splits for the front. In terms of speakers, this is where i'd spend the most money. This is the main sound component of the setup, I wouldn't bother with anything but splits and i'd amp them up also. 3.) 6" Co-axials for rear fill. I'd just get the matching co-axials for the splits (so the co-axials that are offered by that brand in that range). You don't really need to amp these up but if they have similar power levels to the splits i'd get a nice 4 channel amp to run all 4 speakers. 4.) Sub. Most people just like SPL (doof doof = loud) but i'd try and find something that has nice sound to it also. I quite like Pioneer subs as they are quite durable and will generally last a long time and are also a decent price. Digitial Designs offer some of the worlds best subs but in your price range they also have some excellent woofers that will pump rather loud. Not the best looking subs though. I also like Soundstream subs (which is what I have), but again perhaps not in your price range. The other option is Alpine, which you especially might like if you choose alpine speakers (to keep matching brands). For you, you might like something like the 12" Pioneer TS-W307D4. At under $150 you could get 2 and together they will run at 1ohm, so shouldn't effect amp costs much. The 12" Pioneer TS-W3001D4 would be great as well, and with 1000rms 1 would be more than enough. However with 1 it will only run at 2 ohm and finding a 1000wrmsx1 at 2ohm amp can be expensive. 5.) Amps... I'd be getting 2. One 4 channel or 2 channel to run your speakers and a mono amp to run your subs. I suggest you go and have a listen, see what brands you like and post back and I can reccomend some amps to run that system. Alpine make some good and cheap speakers, Pioneer make some ok speakers as well in your price range. Go to a car audio store (not straths or something though) and don't listen to the salesman, just listen to the gear and see what you think.
hey man i spent just over $2k and got a fair bit and sounds awsome (imo) have a look at my commodore and let me know if u want to know more! skitzn .......good luck!
checked your post mate looks bloody wicked !! hey i just had a look and checked the post on your stezza setup and it looks great as well as the car
Audiobahn looks good, but is not very good quality gear. You're paying for chrome, not sound. But that may suit you.
thanks mate i am after decent sound i am definitley going to be after decent sound, i believe there is nothing worse than some tinging noise coming out of your speakers and distorted crappy subs lol to try and save some dollars
