My uncle has a VX executive and at the moment it is running an aftermarket headunit with 4 splits which are powered by a 4ch amp. He wants to put the stock headunit back in but wants to retain the use of the amp. Now, I am under the impression that the Statesman head units had RCA outputs? If so, would I be able to just plug and play a stato headunit into the VX and the amp would run fine? This is mainly to keep factory look and retain steering wheel controls. Cheers.

    dunno about stato and RCA's.
have a chat to phreddy, he can mod the standard unit to have RCA outs.

the factory amps dont have rca
use line level input adaptors and run them to amp
or if amp has high level input use them also
    both ways work

Thanks, I'll pm phreddy, see if he can gimme a hand with that.
The thing is also, the stock headunit is kind of stuffed i.e the CD player works, but the radio doesn't because someone shoved a 20 cent coin in the player. So if I'm gonna be using the standard headunit I want it to work properly. Any ideas how to fix this? I'm thinking a blown fuse but not sure?
