My ve 6.0ltr maloo was running fine at 80kph there all the sudden the engine light came on and it reduced power. When I let off the accelerator it would jerk a bit like it wanted to stall but didn't so I made it home turned off the engine and after 10mind looking under the hood to see if anything had come loose I jad found nothing so I started it back up and it was like nothing was wrong for about 5seconds then went back to misfiring.
Does this sound like a faulty injector to you guys? Anyone had this happen to them?

The symptoms definitely sound like an injector on its way out.

One way to be sure is to scan for codes, specifically you are looking for an Injector open circuit (My case), or injector short circuit.
In my case, I had a slow intermittent fail (1 in 10 times I would have reduced power, engine light on). I would let the thing run for 2 minutes or so (warm up), switch off and restart, and she would be fine.
This slowly got worse over a period of 3 months, until I had the same problem as above (driving along, sudden reduced power and engine light).
I got it home, and tried to drive it an hour later, it ran fine for 2 minutes, then the injector finally gave up.

You can also try reading the injector resistance with a multimeter, to double check that it is within spec (around 12Ohms)

A couple of notes here that may save you some time and money (If you do have an injector problem)

There are some non genuine injectors floating around (eBay, etc), that apparently are direct substitutes for the original Bosch injectors. (Apparently same flow rates, same short size, same connector and resistance).
These do work, (I had them fitted up), but the engine didn't really idle that well SOMETIMES, and I could see occasional cylinder misfires in the scantool logs.
At the time, I put it down to bad fuel, or possibly bad plugs and leads (Changed all this), and the problem still persisted.
I guess the problem may have been something to do with tolerances (maybe some injectors were flowing slightly more than others, hence the ECU was always trying to compensate by running slightly richer or slightly leaner).

I did notice a big difference in the trip computer fuel economy (the aftermarket injectors were reading much better fuel economy than the genuine ones - even the newly replaced genuine ones),
but I dont think this translated to real world fuel economy, more a case of the ECU trying to lean out a richer fuel ratio from that these non genuine injectors were flowing ?

In the end, I bought a set of Genuine Bosch Injectors from Capa that were pulled from a brand new SSV L77 driven from the dealership directly to them for supercharging.
(The injectors had done less than a couple of hundred kays), changed them all, and haven't looked back.
These cost me around $350 for 8 from memory.

The genuine injectors from Holden are EXPENSIVE (To give you an idea, the O-Ring kit from Holden alone cost just over $200)
The aftermarket injectors cost around $250
So it might be an idea to check around some of these places (such as cappa) to see if they have "near new" injectors available.

Oh, and here is some info if you wanted to read up more on how to check, and fit up.

I hope these ramblings help ?

Good to hear it was an easy fix !!!!!

To be honest, I havent heard of anyone else having Injector problems before (So I am guessing Ive been "blessed" with this problem Lol).
