Keeps cooking left hand side middle of motor.. (blown 2 motors)+(blown 1 head gasket in third)
With the vn computer we only run 1 knock sensor. from our understanding the ecotec v6 has two knock sensors. It seems like its leaning out or something but with the rules you carnt altar anything.

plug from that cyl is black and smells like burnt oil can't tell from other 2 engines because a piece off piston cleaned the end of the plug up and spat it out the exh

Any ideas or help would be much appreciated..

im a little confused... what program are you running? a stock VN one? or one provided to you that you arent allowed to modify? just note that the ecotec runs a LOT less spark advance than the vn. also I heard that the bank opposite the throttle body tends to run a little leaner than the other bank.

hell yeah if its a stock vn ECU and tune she will be lean and have lots of timing for an ecotech and yes one bank allways seems to run leaner than the other as jayme said

do you have access to an aldl cable? I would start with hookin up an aldl cable and do a few laps in the back paddock while logging to a laptop, see if that can help identify something.
problem is, you need to nknow what code base the street stock pcm runs and if its 8192 or 160 etc. is it literally sealed or can you pull the memcal out and downlaod a copy?

a few of us tuners have discussed before about the ecotechs some will take timing some will ping as soon as you give them any extra we dont know if its the timing cover castings where the CAS mounts being slightly off or some other reason but yeah some like timing some dont.in saying that though other factors can come into it like the MAF and intake flow condition of injectors etc

sealed pcm will have to find a lead
what dose it mean if it runs that code
it dosent ping memcal rev around 6000 instead of 5500
can you change the timing if posible

if you still have a vn code base tune which is the program on the chip and an aldl cable and aldl socket by the ecu you will be able to log data from the O2 sensor if it runs one and all the other sensors too.

we got told that we should change out that side inj and replace with bigger
to stop leaning on that side
do all inj fire at some time in the vn pcm is it fueling the bore

you could slot the holes in the CAS to allow timing adjustment if its not dictated in the rules.
