Tell you what, bring me a 600ml Farmers Union iced coffee, (not the strong one) to my work and I will bring in a complete strut to work and you can take it home and keep the lot. I work on Frederick St. PM me if you want it.

Go to a Nut and Bolt place,

As long as you have a sample of the Nut, they should be able to match it up.

Nuts and Bolts have a huge range but doubtful they could match it.

Nope they can't it's a specialised nut. He has mentioned this already. But you can use a standard nut as the top nut.

Correct, it is a specialised nut, as its pressed and has thread compressions,

But I received a pair of struts, and they had nyloc nuts for the Top nuts.

Only the top nut is a locking nut. The lower nut is a plane nut just thin. I believe this is the one he is after.

But the Op said "Stuffed a strut top nut getting it off " so one would assume he is means the actual TOP Nut.

So there's two nuts for the strut. One the locking nut is at the top which holds the strut into the car the other is the strut top nut. Both are the same height but the upper one is a locking nut. The only reason the upper nut is thin is so you can fit the little black caps on which is why some shocks just give you a standard nylock nut for the upper.
