Who has one of those stupid mates who comes out with the stupidest things, SHARE YOUR STORIES!!!

I have this one mate, i was in the car with him and his girlfriend, when his girlfriend told him off for speeding, and his response was i dont care blah blah, and she said but they will crush your car. His response was: "I dont care, I have insurance ill just get a new one". I tryed to explain to him that he wont have insurance if his car is confiscated or crushed, but he just kept saying how he has insurance and he will tell them it was stolen :bang:

Then from the same mate, we were talking about brakes failing, and he goes "oh well, if my brakes ever fail I'll just get a mate to tow me home." Again i tryed to explain how this wouldnt work but he failed to see lol.
And hes fair dinkum about this, and theirs no telling him different.

Lol he picked me up from tafe, on his way through, it takes an hour to drive from tafe to my house, or 4 hours trains and buses. Plus i hadnt seem them in ages. Was a good laugh. Oh from the same mate, he was telling me how he put his mates BRAND NEW motor bike on the trailer, and they pulled up at a servo and all these people where laughing at him, so he asked them wats so funny and they go is the bike suppose to be like that. He forgot to chuck front shocks, and the whole front came undo and was dragging behind the trailer, only holding in from the back wheel lol. Lucky he hadnt travelled far and their wasnt much damage.

    i've got a "mate" who's a bit sh1t.

for starters, he lies all the time. it's actually near impossible to tell if he's telling the truth.
secondly, he actually can't drive. He's had 4 cars, pranged 3 badly, and written off one.

    list of incidents i remember:

    - ran over fire hyrdrant
    - was driving in the middle of the road and hit an oncoming car
    - drove straight into a wall of a carpark
    - rolled his car off a cliff (about a 60m drop, "luckily" he lived)
    - managed to trap himself between a skip and his own car... resulting in 2 broken legs

i've got a mate just bought a '99 4 door 1.8L auto lancer for $9,200, without an racv check. says he plans on having it for 10 years, and is going to get it serviced every 3 months.
(but won't let me go near it, even to put a CAI on it)

it's frustrating when derps won't let you help them.

I have an ex mate, we went to the bottle shop one night on the way home he tried to do a handbrake turn, forgot to put the handbrake on, hit the gutter at 70 popped the tyres and hit a fence.

He then blamed me for it, despite me saying "dont do it" over and over again.

Noone ever got in his car again.

same ****... recoed his gas arm for above car and gave it a service including leads but he took all of them off at once and put them back on wrong.

its funny when you think about it, whats the good ol' aussie term 'mate' actually mean? does it mean a person you know whos a tool and you hang round them just to laugh and feel sorry for them or a genuine friend who youve been pals with for years coz he/she is a decent person, i dunno but i actually refer to the first sort i described as my d!ckhead mate i got no 'mates' that say lots of dumb **** more so try to keep hanging of me anyways iv had my winge im off now
