installed style dials now gauges problem

Hi all, I've replaced my vt dash with style dials however now for some weird reason the temp and fuel gauges wont move!? :ranting:
All I did was take the needles off then put 'em back on.
Yes it has fuel in it!
Anyone come across this before?
Whats the go to get them working again?
Cheers
Steve

Well I think i've tried everything now, plugged in, mask off, had the needles only just on then a little more, still no go:bang:
I'm wondering if the shaft of the needle is rubbing on the hole just enough to stop it working? Doesnt feel like it though.
Does anyone know if they should "fall" back down the same as the speedo and tacho do. The fuel and temp just stay where they are when ya move them.

sounds like u may have damaged them the 1st time u put em on or were they like that in the 1st place?? they r ment 2 drop 2 the bottom like the speedo and revs as u said prolly trip 2 the wreckers get a stuffed cluster and replace the mechinisms that rnt working might b the cheaper way 2 go then buyin those bits seperate from holden

What about trying it all again?
Start from scratch, try and align the facia better(????) and the gently put the needles back on.

With mine, I put the needles back on all the way, then used the fork to get them off, quickly. (Does that make sense?) Dont pull em up slow, do it fast, it might pop the shafts back to where they're meant to be.
Did on my one. . . . . .
