yeah, but how do you know what will need replacing??
The electric motor has the electric pins built into it.
I also have had the issue. I have a recall notice, but it appears to be some time away before I get a new box. In the meantime I have a temporary fix due to be conducted over the next week.
Hi Trevor - can you advise build date and km driven, for my interest?
I am patiently waiting to get my cars done "in the middle of the year".
Build date is very end of December 2014. Kms is 64300.
Thanks Trevor. Mine pre date yours, one 59km, one 33 km.
The power steering suffered a complete failure today. it is booked for the temp fix on Monday, but it will not reset and is totally non power, so off on the back of a tow truck - the nearest dealer is 63km away. courtesy of GM.
Has anyone had progress with the general recall promised, via the letters that went out?
The letters stated that they will contact at mid-year with the parts ready and here we are at mid-year. Though I suppose this will be like a politician's promise.
Not any financial incentive for Holden to worry about this.
Probably still waiting for parts...
Finally had my son's Astra's Takata air bag replaced last Wednesday...
Gm’s finally updated their recall page on what parts they will be changing when they get stock
Thanks Z31na, sounds like there are still several steps in the process and they may not replace parts in all cars, even though a VIN range was nominated. Holden may be getting tricky again to reduce costs for them, despite the ACL undertaking.
Dealer inspects vehicle to identify affected vehicle......blah blah.
Mine went about 2 months ago and I called Holden Australia direct from NZ. They recorded everything and set up the appointment with nearest GM dealer. Dealer got hold of me and car was booked in and completed within a week of me calling the customer service line.
I was extremely impressed with their service considering I'm on the eastern side of the ditch.
I suppose if they pull that stunt, whether we can fight it will depend on how they wrote the original recall
Any idea where the steering racks are coming from?, i had issues in May but seems to have settled with the cooler drier weather. I also had problems with 90,000k service when an lpg part got damaged during installation leading to a gas smell and re-repair. I am in Mittagong and will go to sydney for next service.

I was thinking about this the other day.
So @RoganJosh was that work done on your car?
Did Holden contact you and book in??
I have an 2015 SV6 on the recall list that's done 31000. I bought it at 27000. Still no sign of the fault. Got a letter from Holden today dated 26 August:
"What happens next?
GM Holden has now received the necessary replacement parts to enable commencement of repairs.
We invite you to contact your Holden Servicing Dealer - Bay City Holden, on 03 9784 4454 to arrange for your vehicle to be repaired, free of charge."
Bay City is where the books say it was serviced but is not my local so I'll try elsewhere.
Hi all i just received the letter today that parts are ready. Does anyone know how long they need the car for.
Got my letter today for the mistress (2015 SSV)
