Hey, I was wanting opinions on supercharging my vs, should I do It? An would a super charger off an l67 bolt straight onto my ecotech v6 engine with out any major mods?
Search it's has been asked many many times. No you can't just whack on the supercharger. What do you want out of it?
yes you should do it. but I heard if you wanna put a ecotec charger on a ecotec then you have to change the heads over and manifold etc obviously also haft to do the harmonic balancer for the 2nd belt also you will need the injectors its a it of a stuff around.. would be cheaper to buy a factory charged motor and engine loom and computer and it should be sweet… would be so much easier just buying a aftermarket kit and strapping it on
Quickest, easiest and cheapest way is to buy an L67(factory supercharged V6) from flea bay, take your motor out and bolt the L67 straight in. Lengthen a couple of wires get THE1 (forum member here) to do you a memcal and away you go. then sell your old motor on flea bay and get some $$$$ back, that is if it is still running.
WRONG! Well technically yes that would work, but you are still wrong! Ecotecs run a higher compression then the L67, will probably end up blowing the head gaskets and probably cracking the heads sooner rather then later. Can always add in a few head spaces to make less compression, that is if you don't want to do a proper job and have the whole bottom end fitted with L67 running gear, but what would be the point in that, when it would cheaper and less hassle to just Drop a L67 in.
Higher compression shouldn't be an issue with a standard pulley and 98RON. If you increase the boost as long as the tune and supporting mods are done right I cant see a problem. It wont be as good as a L67 bottom end but no reason why it cant be reliable with the right combo
Yeh i know it wouldn’t be a good idea i wouldn’t do it all i was saying is that its possible to do but its not worth the time and effort to do.. like i said it would be better to and easier to just buy a L67 from a wrecked car and drop it in or buy a aftermarket charger and put it on.. but it would work tho..
