So i have been thinking of getting a new car around christmas time. i have been looking at vs statos and just the other day i saw a p plater driving a vs supercharged stato. nearlly lost my s*^t when i saw it, thought it wouldnt be legal to drive on p's. got on the vic roads site and found a list of car that you can apply for an exemption and there it was VSIII v6 supercharged. so what i want to know is should i try for and exemption, the form you have to fill out is pretty easy too, and i want to know if you can chuck on LPG in a supercharged V6. cheers guys.
super 6 stato's are very nice cars, and im fairly sure you can run them on LPG, but to get an exemption these days you have to have a good reason... or at least something better then i want a new car and liked the super 6 stato. it has to be a legit reason like it is the only car in a price range that is available for your needs (work, family, etc). if you have a good reason and are able to get the exemption then go for the stato. if it were me i would get a stock 6 vs sedan and save up till i was off my p's then get a 5L stato.
Try for an exemption for sure. There is no guarantee it will be approved so be careful with buying a car first since they may not let you drive it. You can run them on LPG but you need a gas injection system, you cant use a mixer setup. Chances are the gas system would cost as much as the car
On the form you have to fill out you dont have to state why you want to drive one. here is the form http://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/NR/r...erformanceSuperchargedTurbochargedVehicle.pdf plan is to have something fun now untill i finish my engineering degree so i can get a VS senator.
well then deffinatly apply for an exemption but as stated to run it on LPG you need the right system which will cost you. if your keen on getting the car then go for it.
Cheers mate ill call a gas guy and find out some more. Does anyone on here have a superchaged engine running LPG
