Supercharger or ls swap

Hey guys I own a 1996 vs Ute automaticac 3.8l ecotec and want some power, not keen on buying another commo because i am keen to get this car in tip top shape first.
My mates try to convince me to ls swap it or supercharge it, I’ve searched for some sc kits online and they seem beefy but if a swap is better I’ll go for gold but Im asking you guys since I have no clue.
