hey all......i rang up pedders to get a quote on how much it'd cost to get my vt lowered....they told me $860 for superlow springs + camber kit.......is that a rip off??
and has anyone here had the superlow springs from pedders put in that can show me a pic so i can c how low it is.....coz i want my ride pretty low and he said the springs will make it just a little bit lower than a SS...but that doesnt sound very low....

Super low's should be quite low any lower and you will have insurance, and police issues not to mention driveability problem's the price seems not too bad.

I got the lowrider suspension in my VT, it gives me about an inch of clearence with the mudflaps on which scrap all the time. The profile of my tyres are 55 on 16" rims so if you go lower profile you will get the car to sit lower.
    Check the pics.

Most wheels have the same rolling diameter, the bigger the wheel the smaller the tyre, you can't really get the car to sit lower by changing the tyres, no matter what tyre it won't be much different in size.

    Cheers

I can see how 55 profile tyres on 16" rims arnt going to sit lower than 75 profile tyres o 16" rims.........

Why would you want to put 75s on 16s? 55 is around the basic profile for that sized wheel.

You also have to think of how the car will drive/perform with different size tyres, but I don't see why you'd put higher profile tyres on a wheel.

    Cheers

I never said you would, I said the lower the profile, the lower the car.

Ok I see your point, I'm just saying that generally most wheel sizes have their suited profile which is generally low enough for that size.

btw just a question, 15" wheels can't have 55 profile tyres can they?

    Cheers

Not sure, but you probably could since smaller cars like Lancers often have 15" mags and there'd prolly be demand for decent tyres for those sort of rims.

    Kmac or King Springs?

Have u looked into kmac or king springs? I got superlow kmacs in my ss and had king springs in my old VN Calais and they both looked wild all tho the ss sits lower and sometimes way 2 low it scrapes sometimes but looks wild with few people in it sittin on speedy rims :whistling.Dont forget some short shocks, a nolathane bush kit and camber kit wouldn't be bad upgrades 2 think about :D . I would really look into other brands and prices before u rush 2 pedders, Pedders may not always be the cheapest.

    Hey all,

I'm going to get my VT lowered (kingspring - superlows) tomorrow, just springs tho. Need to get new struts, shocks etc. to finish the job as subdue mentioned. Can anyone recommend brands to use? I have no idea what would be good value/quality for ride, handling etc as well as not to expensive. All i no is pedders and i'm sure there has to be others.....

Also if anyone has any pics of their VT with superlows, please post. Its hard to find good pictures on the net that show just how low the car is and to help out anyone else in my situation.

    Thanks

OMG THATS LOW!!!! Guess my bro is right about not getting in the drive, VERY nice BTW. That helps a lot, thanks,

Just another question, how do you go with insurance with it being that low??? Any problems?

how do you people with superlows go? does it scrape much?

i got quoted $297 for lows at trade price and i think around $600 for fitting too

Look on Ebay, pretty cheap on there i've looked around quite a bit and ebay is cheap. You just have to pay for fitting or DIY. I'm getting King spring superlows for $300 fitted, someone in the trading post. Thats the cheapest i could find unless you DIY it.

    Cheers :)
