SV6 Headlight Switch

Gday all,

1st off awesome site ya have very heapful info on here.

2nd i bought the misses a Red 2004 SV6 for 13k Bargain (i think)

good car had for a few months had rear exhaust removed, 2 hole mod K&N Filter, front strut brace and Ipod mod , anyway to the question

The Headlight switch does not illuminate so the LED are dead (i assume) I want to pull apart the switch and install new LED's i notice ASR audio has a Pdf on how to do it but its missing the page on how to pull it apart, if anyone knows how they come apart or has that full pdf any help would be awesome.

i just did a quick search on the ASR website but couldn't find anything but im pretty sure i have a copy at home.

i think the LED's in the headlight switch surface mount(ie not normal ones), if they are then it might be tricky buying them from your local shop

Actually, if i remember correctly, Phreddy told me, that the lights in the HL switch are globes not led's.

According to my VZ wiring diagram it is an incandescent (filament) bulb.
Probably like the ones in the rear fast glass switches.

Yes it was cheap so i bought it a couple of scratches but overall she's allright.

Well there ya go i picked up a cheap VZ Headlight switch (non-foglamp) off ebay that works so ill steal the bulbs out of that and have a spare switch body. At least if a bust the spare getting it apart i know how to pull apart my original one.

On a side note i used this faq GTO Hard Wire Tutorial
to get my ipod going it works awesome i really wanted to use Phreddy but he must be flat out i emailed him 2 weeks ago and still no reply ohh well.
