My SV6 2004 makes what appears to be dry top end on start up ? it will make this noise most of the time, but not when the motor is hot. Any experienceing this, or is GMH using ****ty oil on service??????????? any help appreciated.
nothing wrong all good oil mobil one super synthetic 5w50 it drain back over night but being thin it gets up the top pretty quick say lessthan 3 second's
Co_cker, check your power steering fluid..........if you have a leaking hose you are losing enough to create this noise, believe it or not. This happened to me and "Yep",....it sounded like the top end had ****e itself...sounded worse when first starting at any point, hot or cold and the noise, although still there dissipated dramatically as it got hot. Hope this helps, Cheers Rogues
Thanks Rogues, Check the fluid all good, but did have a leaking hose. Holden Dealer says they cannot hear anything, F***ing lying b***tards.
best investment and protects for "up to" 80000ks +- is Nulon E30 engine additive. Teflon sticks to all components so doesn't run off overnight. Have used this prod. on my ex-car (hyundai) after 95000 ks on clock engine still purrs. Costs about 30 to 35 bucks now. Have more tips if people want to hear them.

My conspiracy theory is that all car companies use the worst oil they can find and promote it as the best. My fav. oil is Castrol R 5w30. Gets in everywhere and has less load on oil pump. Gets rid of fuel starving flat spot between 3 to 4 g's creating smoother acceleration and more power.
