    G'day Folks,
Would loose sway bar link cause the car to drift (rubbers and washers flopping around link, not tight on sway bar) .

I had my VS radius rod bushes replaced by pedders, ever since then car has been drifting sideways especialy at above 100km/h and when you turn corners the steering doesn't seem to want to straighten up wants to keep turning, I've taken back to pedders they said it felt like the car was steering from the back and replaced the back sway bar?? (I think) and problem is still there, if I keep going back to pedders they are going to be using the elimination method to find the problem (namely eliminating my bank account) so my question above, any ideas appreciated.
    Thanx

I replaced mine a few weeks ago. With the car on the ground I also noticed that the washers and bushes on the sway bar link pins were all loose and rattley. I bought a nolathane sway bar link replacement kit for around $50 (bush only replacement kit is around $24). The replacement pins are almost double the thickness of the original ones and once fitted seemed to have firmed up the front end a fair bit. Whether it will stop the car from drifting is another story but you never know.

Did they do a wheel alignment after they replaced the radius rod bushes- they should have, and given you a report showing the readings for each wheel. Check that the readings are within tolerances. Loose sway bar bushes will certainly cause some problems but I would question why this hasn't already been picked up and corrected by Pedders. I'd be inclined to try someone else.

The new radius rod rubbers will have changed the wheel alignment, get it checked ASAP, the sway bar rubbers will rattle but won't make it drift.
