How do I know my swaybar links are stuffed?

    Hey everyone,

I'm wondering if my sway bar links at the front are going? What should i listen/look out for?

    Thanks,

The problem you may get with the front sway bar is normally the bushes that deteriorate or compress. The bushes should be tightly compressed between the washers to the same diameter as the washers they sit between when the car is on a level surface. The other thing that can happen is bend or break the link pin, which will be pretty evident with a quick inspection.

you'll know pretty quick if they have busted, any decent turn to the side the bushes have gone on will result in a "clunk" as the link moves up and down a bit - this usually happens when straightening up coming out of the turn.

spaced if you live close enough come around tomorrow we shut at 11:30 tho
Its easier by putting it up on a hoist to check it then checking it on the ground lol

and replace your rear 2 tyres before the next cruise as I still got a voucher for 6 Dunlop/Goodyear tyres for 20% off to use yet :)

I think my front sway bar bushes could be stuffed

Yeah ... interested in what you've had to say about front sway bar bushes. My 02 VXSS has suddenly started making a druming noise as the rev's come up thru' about 1,500rpm.

A front end inspection probably 10,000km ago indicated that the bushes were a bit worn after the characteristic "thunk" as the suspension travels especially at full steering lock.

    Any comments gratefully accepted.
