Hi guys i want to switch my tailight globes to LEDs if possible. I want to do this as the grey aftermarket taillights which is have purchased for my vs sedan look pink wih t gobes i was supplied. I this possible to use leds for the indicators and brake lights.
just go and buy some red narva globes they actually look red not pink and they stay that way... leds are crap for tail lights cos the light doesnt spread out and it looks like you have 2 small dots trying to do something when you brake
The cheapy LED replacement light just have the LED's facing in 1 direction, that's why you just get a large dot. These ones look like they would do a better job. The LED Shop Australia - $35 pair Would like to hear from anyone who has tried these.
i currently run led indicators, brake/parker and reverse globes in my clear tail lights and have never been questioned or warned about them. though, theyre not the typical cheapo ones. they spread the light out the front and sides, not just the front. and yeh, i think most leds dont pass adr's, so therefore are illegal. as long as they produce enough light, not a crappy "dot", light up the correct colour and the cop doesnt have it in for you, you will be right. im using these for reverse http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1157...ItemQQcategoryZ33713QQitemZ150104180750QQrdZ1 and for brake/indicator are the 20led version(just another 2 leds on the top)
Also led's are low power consumption long lasting. LMAO how can they be illegal if there fitted to all the new cars and they all pass ADR laws
because those particular ones went through all the tests needed to pass the adr's!! most of the led globes you buy most likely havent been run through those tests. narva should be one of the exceptions.
hey hakhawk, do ur indicators flash faster than usual, as if a globe was blown? i'm told this was guna be the case, but im yet to try it. i wanna put them in the clear lights for the calais when i get a set. if anyone has done this let me no, cos i wanna c it b4 i try it or i'l probably end up stuffing it up ps. thanx to frandy for the inspiration
funnily enough,on the vn they dont, but thats with only leds in the rear. but, on the vp, they do, so i bought a narva led flasher can, which fixes the problem. i had a thread just the other day, http://forums.justcommodores.com.au/showthread.php?t=54979 has the part number in there
