As above????????????

Ol' petey boy easier to deal with in person & got cash in hand.

Getting complete conversion kit would be tricky as cars so damn old now very few donor cars left.

Yeah not surprised,it was hard to piece that conversion together 10 years ago let alone today without donor car.

Those v8 t5 usually blew 3rd gear, sometimes out the case junking everything...is it vl cox or vn/s?
Can tell by where shifter sits in console if needs to be moved or modded.

For 5k dellows ford 6cyl t5 conversion or doing t56 conversion with mal wood pedal box or vl 6cyl pedal box would've meant better parts & availbility.

Yeah money in hand/pick up only when everything ready type of deal might have got things done quicker but personally after 2-4 weeks I'd walk

Its a world class t5 was told will handle 400rwk VS gear. Nearly went to Mal Wood. Pretty much cut my losses and got the rest of parts myself. I used to work for Volvo and Mack trucks so I can get it done. Car is a driver about 185rwk. Should still be good when I get it in. I kept getting told a couple more weeks will be ready and the time blew out. The bush fires took most of my attention as well. Cheers

Not sure if you mean that you were told a World Class T5 would handle 400kw or the one you bought was rebuilt and would, but every T5 VN-VS (V6 included) is a World Class. Wouldn't put 400kw (maybe he meant 400nm or just didn't know the difference) through that. Don't even think the base LS T56 is a 400kw box in standard form. What was the reason you went for this guy's setup instead of buying say a second hand 2k or 3k VN-VS kit?

You say you almost went to Mal Wood to complete everything or you chose the T5 specialist over Mal Wood? At least if you decide to go down the T56 route the only custom component you would have to source yourself would largely be the tailshaft unless somebody already sells one, everything else seems to be off the shelf (conversion bellhousing included) and you could just use an RB30 manual pedalbox for the hydraulic clutch instead of having to stuff around trying to make your own like you would to with the scarce Getrag pedal box for VN-VS.

On a side note I've been following T5 manual conversions since I had my first car and I've never heard of this guy. I would never buy anything from somebody with a website that is that poorly constructed, even a Facebook page would be better (at this point in time there are too many user friendly website builders to have a website this poor). I only say this because the website is usually pretty telling to how able they are to actually provide a product (including pictures of what's included), and if the website is good and they've invested time in providing information to you (including if they actually have inventory in real time), they will usually put that same amount of effort into also providing the as pictured product to you. Honestly doesn't even look like it would cut it as a hobby business. Look for places that actually showcase complete cars or you know have the ability to get new stuff.

Stuff like not providing a yoke because you already have one is pretty piss poor, I'd possibly look at your options regarding consumer law as it sounds like he's positioned himself as a business (however crappy) and that is a lot of dosh to hand over.

I was abit pushed for time to organise the box myself with the drought and then fires so I thought (wrongly) that he was a one stop shop and would be quicker at it . I could find nothing bad from google but there was a street machine article on him. The box is meant to be cobra race prepped with tapered bearings, billet parts etc. I made a complaint to fair trading and told him I wanted my money back in February, next thing the G/box kit was advertised on gumtree for $6000. I blocked the add. Then Corona hit Australia, with the new laws I told him to deliver in case of shut down. The one excuse that was true was his mum had died ( January I think). Im about 4 hours to Sydney so he met me at Goulburn. Didn't want to get ugly on the side of the road so I just put the gear in my ute and headed back to the farm. Im still learning the internet and hard lessons. Rural life depends on word of mouth. I had so much other stuff going on that were more a priority it became a balancing act. I thought better to get something than do all my doe and who knows how long fair trading would take. He wont be selling to anyone I know. On the upside the fires are out, we have had good rain water tanks are full and grass back in the paddock. Thanks for the reply. Also I went for the T5 to keep it period correct. Cheers

Its also interesting you said about a facebook site. Im not on facebook myself but I did check and There was a T5 specialist facebook site. I notice its now closed. Perhaps it may have something to do with the fair trading complaint I put in
