Hi all!

So im currently in the process of installing a T56 (M6) into my car. I have already removed the 4l60e (A4). I managed to pick up a whole 'conversion kit' yesterday, just finished servicing the box and cleaning everything up. At the moment i have a few questions after reading a few threads posted here.

1. Will the car still have cruise control after the T56 conversion? (Have heard you need to splice the wires on the brake pedal)

2. The conversion came with the flywheel and clutch, the clutch has seen about 60,000kms but looks to be in good shape. Do i have to get the flywheel machined if the clutch and flywheel were removed from the same car at the same time? 3 small hot spots but nothing major.

3. Whats the best way to bleed the Master Cylinder on a T56?

4. Does anyone have any photos or information on exactly what wires need to be cut and rewired? (Reverse lights, Speedo, etc) I have a full manual loom but dont want to replace the whole thing, instead im happy to use parts of the manual loom to convert the auto loom.

5. Is there a recommended way to install the Clutch Pedal Box? cant seem to find any threads about this.

6. Once installed and running (Hopefully), what error codes will be thrown but the ECU? and how will the engine perform until the tune has been modified? (Currently running an aftermarket Dyno tune) apparently the speedo will be out by quite a lot?

7. I have heard that the Reverse Lockout mechanism wont work until the ECU is retuned?

8. Is it better to install the trans and bell housing as one piece? or remove the bell housing and install it first? (I have been told it easier to line up the box and tighten the bell housing bolts if they are separated)

9. Torque settings: i know the flywheel needs to be torqued, but do the bell housing bolts and the bolts that hold the trans to the tail shaft dont need to be torqued?

Other than that any info, links, tips or tricks you guys might have would be amazing since there are so many threads and forums out there with so many different answers i dont know which to follow.

'K. Ive done this on my Calais.

1: Yes, it will. You will want to run new wires to a the cancel switch on the clutch pedal so cruise dis-engages when you hit the clutch. Loop them off the brake cancel switch so the switches are in parallel.

2: Peace of mind factor. Get the flywheel done. I got a new clutch kit with new flywheel and everything when I did mine.

3: When everythings in, disconnect the hose that connects to the slave cylinder at the point next to the box. Pour clutch fluid into the reservoir and let it bleed through by gravity. When it starts draining out constantly hook it back up and top off reservoir.

4: Use the manual harness, I did, it's not that hard to swap over especially with the box out.

5: Take the drivers seat out and lie face up on the floor under the dash. I unbolted the brake booster so it could move to get the manual brake pedal in, and more room to get the clutch pedal in.

6: The auto ECU will spit out 100000 error codes because it won't be able to read any of the shift solenoids or anything to do with the auto. I got around this by using a manual tuned ecu set for my car with a mafless tune on it. Anyone with a tech2 will be able to sort it out.

7: Can't comment on that, used manual ecu from the get go.

8: Take the bellhousing off, I found you can't get them both in when the box and housing are together. Easy as when they're split.

9: I torqued the bellhousing to block bolts, box to bellhousing and crossmember bolts. I've got a VTII so i've just got a uni joint no donut crap. Follow the specs in the manual and you won't be sorry.

Tips? PUT A RIPSHFTER ON IT RIGHT NOW WHILE THE BOX IS OUT!!!! And use NEW flywheel bolts.

Anything else you want to know send me a PM, I've got a workshop manual for these things on my computer.

Thanks notStock!

Have a clutch and fly wheel on the way. Might as well buy new ones while the car is out right?

Hopefully ill find out the wire colour codes and modify them as needed, otherwise ill just run the manual loom
