T56 onto a 5.0L VT

    I want to put a 6 speed onto my 5.0L VT ...how hard is it and has anyone done it??

    How much would it cost?

    If your car is already manual, you'll be looking at around 5000. If its auto, you'll need a conversion kit, so expect to pay more.


    Its not difficult if you have any mechanical knowledge.

    what do i need besides the box and tailshaft?

    yea your car if it is a v8 will have a 6 speed in it but nice upgrade, you'll need the clutch, pedal box, gearbox and tailshaft. it needs some mods to your firewall in your engine bay best left to the pro's

    His car is auto atm, which is why he asked about what parts he'll need to convert it.

    Being a 5 Litre, it would only have a 5 speed if it was manual, not a 6 speed.

    its a manual....and yea its a 5 speed. just wanting that extra gear so when i up the diff gears i can still get bout the same fuel economy and a bit more kick off the line....just something to do

    Contact Mal Wood. 5000 is a rough figure, less if you trade in your old 5 speed.
