What about stop and turn lights...do they still work? Have you changed the globes in the lamp units - its easy to instal the wrong globe.

Had a similar problem a couple of weeks ago with the Stato. Check fuse 1 and also the back of it as well. I had a thin wire overheat and melted thru a couple of other wires making them all live, making strange things happen to guage lights and trans as well.

Might be what you are experiencing.

I would take the bulbs out and check them. On mine there is a white grease applied on the metal contact of the bulb, not sure if this was from the factory or what, but it dried up and was acting as an insulator, stopping the metal-metal contact. I wiped it off and the bulbs worked as normal. May have been the brake lights though, not 100% sure.

which fuse though what number? the lights work fine they just wont turn on when the headlights are on so people can see me at night.

ill check some fuses again and ill check the bulbs even though they work fine, it has to be somewhere a long the line between the fuse and switch im guessing.

Check the "park lamp relay" ....it's located with the other relays near the battery.

Trans wasnt changing as it normally would and stuck in 3rd gear.

Blown globe light was on, on the dash.

Even got pulled over 2kms from destination on a 3hr trip :whistling
Talked our way into getting escorted the rest of the way and got off with a warning. Had to drive home from the trip in the day coz I couldn't sort the problem while away. Didn't want to risk getting caught again with no tailights.
