hey
I’m looking at putting my taillights on a switch because I use my headlights to see when I go swimming or party’s or what not and was wondering if there is anyway I can wire up a toggle switch to cut out my taillights
Cheers

better off getting an LED flood light and jusy wiring that up, easier on battery
some of the 20 odd watt work lights are pretty good

this, headlamps use way more battery.

Sorry but being able to switch off taillights isn't just illegal. It sounds dodgy. Very dodgy. Just like the reason given for wanting to be able to do it.

You could fit LED tail light globes and front parker bulbs that would significantly reduce the amount of current drawn from the battery. How do you stop the headlights from flattening the battery? Just he HL's would be drawing way more current than the tail lights.

2 headlight on low beam plus front parkers plus dash lights equals 110w
tail lights equals 14w
get a spotlight that plugs into cig lighter socket

No dodgy at all bro I have a light bar already on front bar but it’s hooked up to fog light switch so headlights have to be on I don’t really care if it’s illegal or not

then just add a second switch to light bar
fit a diode to original light bar wiring and problem solved
your original idea would still leave dash lights and front parkers on
