tailshaft bolts come loose

i recently changed my clutch i removed tail shaft and when i replaced it i tightened it to spec but now every so often they come loose have put loctite 272 on them they still work there way loose

Clean bolt threads. Try either 243 Loctite (med strength) or 277 Loctite (high strength). And torque to specification.

272 loctite is same as 277 272 is also high temp ill try clean the treads i even went onve to tourqe specs to try stop it

I have had the same issue after doing th tail shaft. I replaced the bolts and they have not come lose since.

they must be a once only tighten and loosen
did you replace them eith genuine ones ore what ever was lying around haha

Two totally different compounds. Both high temp and high strength yes, but 277 is suprieror in shock loading and vibration properties.

Not sure the price difference between genuine and bolt manufacturer prices, but quote around. Throw the crown nuts away too and go nyloc. Much more shear and tensile strength.

I used genuine ones about 6 dollars for the set. I don't think that there are classed as one use, but I have mine in and out a lot so it is just safer to replace them. I replace mine every second time these days.

the nuts are a large outside diameter so that they lock into a bit of a recess in the back of the universal. Can you even get nyloc nuts with the correct outside diameter? I think original might be the only option for replacement
