hi all, i had my second tat done about a month ago but during the healing process the skin broke and now i've got a scar running dow the middle of the tat (from sleeping), it's on the underside of my forearm and was wondering if anyone knows if you can get it touched up or do you have to wait a year for the scar to completely heal? just wondering if anyone knows what the go is with fresh scars and tattooing. cheers all
Depending on the size of the scar some tattoo places are reluctant to go over it at all. I know as a former body peircer i was not allowed to/recommended not to peirce over scar tissue for atleast 3 months after it happened, and even then sometimes you have to peirce just below or something. Depending on the studio, the scar itself and how fast your body heals i would probally take a stab at the same kind of time period of 3 months, just go and make sure though.
correct!!! ^^^^ my dads mate is a tattooist in narre warren (purple haze tattooz) and he wont generally tattoo OR peirce ANY scarred skin at all i have a black tribal sleeve covered my whole left arm goes halfway from my upperarm all the way to my wrist and all the way around my arm........theres more ink than skin, and my other arm is covered in stars with mine and my sisters initials in between it all and i have another big tribal one on my right calf and i slept on em all but never got scarring............i havent heard of that happening before
Yeah ive got my right forearm done, with the misfits fiend skull. Ive got a few bits that need to be touched up but no scaring. Some places will go over a scar if its small, but they dont like doing it because theres little or no blood flow so it doesnt heal as it should.
Yeah the one on my calf never scabbed up at all let alone scared. About to go get two new ones on my wrists........just need to decide on where to go.
cheers all, i think i'll wait another couple of months before going to get a touch up just incase, i got scaring cuz i how i sleep with my arm under my head, when it wept it stuck to the bicep and apon waking up and moving my arm it would pull that healed area apart causing a split in the skin.:cry: the tat is sitting almost adjacent to my elbow so every time i bend my arm it would crack the scab. bloody annoying it was. anyway im rambleing ,cheers all for the advice:thumbsup:
Yeah thats what happened to my first tat. it was on my forearm and everytime i moved my arm the skin would stretch and all the scabs would with it. I loved the scabs, used to get people to touch it and freak them out hahahaha.
