Telstra have pissed me off for the last time. I have just spent 3 months fighting them over a ADSL2 connection that I ordered but recieved only ADSL. Now I find out that my home phone line has been cut off for bill non payment THAT HAS BEEN PAID WEEKS AGO. I phone up and after trying to talk to a REAL person you get a machine that cut me off three times. (telstra get paid for 3x phonecalls, hmm deliberate methinks) I finally just IGNORE the machine and get put through to an Indian bloke that cant understand English, he admits Telstra are at fault for the disconnection and it will be reinstated right away. Hours pass no joy so I phone back and have to repeat the frustration and when I get threw eventually get PROMISED within 24 hrs It will be connected. So 30 hours later STILL NO SERVICE so I have to phone again where Im told YET ANOTHER ERROR was made yesterday and that I will have connection within 24 hours WTF........................ I hate telstra they fk you over time and time again and they EMPLOY TWATS. I could get a turd to work more effectively. Anyone else have any bad telstra stories.. :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang:
yep. we had similar issues at my place, first they charged about 300 dollars connection fee, then they dicked around for ages claiming they couldn't connect our number because the last tennants hadn't properly disconnected from another provider before leaving. this went on for 2 weeks eventually they got their **** together and gave us a 90 dollar credit on bills because we were still charged for on our statement for the 2 weeks we were without connection for. in the end we wrote a letter to the ombudsman but i can't even remember if we sent it.
i havent recieved a telstra mobile phone bill for about 10 months (im on a $79 cap). after 6 months of trying to get one from telstra i gave up, and was told that i couldn't be in advance with my account because the phone wasnt attatched to my account (so i couldnt make regular payments to telstra for when this bill came in, was basically told that i may never see a bill and i'd fallen "through the cracks") recieved a letter yesterday telling me they're gonna send me one massive bill for nearly 1 year at once. cant wait
I work for telstra as a manager in a privately owned dealership and I can say that they really are ****wits, People come in to us to get an issue sorted, and because telstra doesnt trust private dealerships enough to give them full system access (we cant even take bill payments or even look at what plan people are on most of the time) we have to call telstra up 80% of the time, and every single time we have to talk to someone in the phillipines (its not india, contrary to popular belief) they just tell us that they cant help us. So we end up being on the firing line for most complaints people have about telstra, even though it has nothing to do with us, because technically we aren't telstra. Boy are they shitting bricks on the internal website about this government enforced break up though. And you know what? it's their own fault anyway for trying to play the monopoly game on the National Broadband Network.
we're yet to recieve a water rates bill for our unit even though we've been there since feb/march. my GF has been told that the water people did this (mega bill) thing to one of her friends and that they legally can't ask for more than a months bill somehow. i'll try to get specifics off her and see if it applies to your telstra issue
Optus FTW!!! Only ever had one problem with our cable connection, and it was a local area thing. Other than that, never had a problem.
Dont ever leave the metro area in any other state besides victoria cobez. This is the only reason why telstra still exists is that they can serve people in places that everyone else cant.
Anyone who feels they have a case against any teleco, take it to the TIO. This is after you've tried every avenue to have your problem fixed and you are still not satisfied. TIO - Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman home page
Never had an issue with telstra!! Will stay with them. On the rare ocassion of an overcharge we visit the local Telstra shop and let them sort it out. I have heard similar complaints from Optus, 3 etc, its not just isolated. Someone mentioned Telstra shitting themselves over national broadband netwrok, why would they? Telstra won't be running any filtering etc unlike the govco system, I would prefer to not have the government connection...too big brother for me.
lol I have had my fair share of problems wirth Telstra, their customer service is abysmal, bastards tried billing us for supposed repairs their technician made, when they didn't do a damn thing and the fault was telstras, had to call them up 4 times and spoke to 9 different people before we got someone with half a brain that rectified it. Another time we had problems with foxtel which is billed through telstra, they kept telling us to call foxtel, foxtel told us to call telstra, we got bounched back and forth 5 times turned out it was a telstra problem. Bunch of bloody incompetant fools they are!
lol... had u ever thought abt asking to pseak to an ENGLISH pseaking person??? if u do, it may help you out alot mroe the sooking on here. I have done the same with 3. Mum was just on the phone to some mob abt a bill... (****ing curry munchers) then got put through to an Aussie,a nd now its all sorted.
Lol Failstra. The only company who sign you up to a service that doesn't exist (And threaten legal action when you don't pay an extravagant bill for said non service) I just recently got my parents to cancel their failstra, and there going to use iprimus now.
LOL @ what you said to that bloke from 3 mobile you were on the phone to lol  I still laugh about that hahaha.
My mobile's with Telstra, had a problem within the first few months with the phone they supplied, it was fixed and bonus internet data issued to me as a sign of good faith. Also, their automatic billing system started charging me for calls it shouldn't have one month, called up Telstra (and yea, got someone in Melbourne), they were really helpful and applied a credit to my account Never had any problems with Telstra for my mobile.
My housemate just changed a heap of mobile phone stuff over with telstra, and was promised no fee for ending her contract early, only to be stung with a $250 cancellation fee. She rang up telstra and has now been credited the money so won't be paying phone bills for at least the rest of the year. My mum also got overcharged with telstra somehow recently (I forget the full story), but she was refunded + extra IIRC.
i havent been with telstra ever since they decided to change my plan one day, and i ended up with $220 phone bill, they took away my free 10 minute calls after 9 and changed it to 5 minute calls for 15 cents, and normal rates after that. this was a long time ago, but i still rather optus, i know theres probably better than optus but i havent had a problem so i'll stay with them
