I have a hiptop on the hiptop plan with telstra.. I 'misplaced' my phone.. So I rang telstra to tell them and what I do about a replacement phone.. After 3 hours! I finally reach an australian guy who says yes we will replace the phone.. So I go to telstra to receive a replacement phone.. They guy basicly tells me no and to go away.. He was the rudest c*nt ever! So I rang telstra.. Hour and a half later they say that guy was right and They said I then can use my simcard in another phone and receive all the hiptop benefits... go into telstra.. Oh wrong again... turns out my simcard basicly can only be used in these phones.. And telstra have discontinued the phone so I couldn't buy one anywhere! there was more stuffing around on there behalf.. Wrote telstra a letter.. Got no reply.. So I just went out researched bought the last new phone hiptop in nsw outright.. $560..! Which telstra looked for and couldn't find... turned the phone on activated it and.. Oh amazing.. It doesn't work... sent it away for 3 weeks.. Turns out it it was my account not my phone! So I have a $150 phone bill due to it being sent away and I had to pay for everything I used whilst it [simcard] was in another phone.. So in honestly 8 hours instore and on the phone I had to solve my own problem.. Telstra are absolute rubbish I hate them! 18 months left on my contract and I will never go back! Mt druitt telstra will burn!
Keep in mind not everyone knows whirlpool exists to get feedback about their shitty services. Infact most of the (older) people i know think telstra are still the only company who can give you a phone/net service.
Yeah people tend to think their the biggest, the best and will offer you the best service. They are horrible if you do anything with your internet connection that falls outside the "Browsing emails" category.
This is the only reason they're still profitable. I know so many people who, when suggested to look into alternative phone/net providers, say "Oh, but Telstra is the best one" when they've never heard of, nor investigated, any others. "They're big so they must be the best" I guess it's somewhat like Microsoft; everyone knows the name, and being known brings sales, regardless of the issues with the service.
F*** telsta!!! been stuffed around alot with them and they are bloody rip offs!!!!!! & they can't afford anyone that speaks clear english! will never go back to telstra
A few months back I got charged over $1000 for my monthly mobile bill wich is normally $60. I knew i hadn't gone over my cap so looked into the bill and saw disconnection charges! Seems telstra decided to disconnect and reconnect my service without my authorisation. The bloke at the telstra shop was good and got it all sorted for me. Unfortunately living in a rural area means telstra gives the best coverage, thats the only reason I'm with them. Worst thing is that they are a private dealership and since I move to adelaide in a month, none of the offical telstra shops will recognise any warranty claims.
We've just become a Telstra reseller. We'll see how we go with them, if there are to many stuff ups then we'll stop doing it. Haven't started selling anything as yet, just waiting for some stock to arrive.
Unless you're talking about crazy johns, they have to honor your warranty (unless it is expired of course.) Dont let them tell you any different. I KNOW they have to. Cheboorator: Way more trouble than the pissy money you'll make off selling the stuff is worth.
basically the lady my GF knows was with AGL, got bills and paid them, but they were for gas only, not electricity as well. they sent out a massive bill and she called and said it was unreasonable or whatever and got in touch with the ombudsman (link to telephone ombudsman on page 1 of this thread) and it turned out they couldn't charge her for more than the last 6 months. this was for gas/electricity and in Vic, your case might be different but you got nothing to lose eh?
In NSW.. They told me they couldn't get it in from another state.. I had to get mine from lithgow.. And I live in sydney. They lady in penrith telstra and said there were 4 left and rang around and they were gone, So I dunno how I got one but. There not bringing out a new hiptop are they?
As I have told many a person, I would seriously go without a phone and the internet if hellstra was the only provider left. I hate them with a passion, have many a story of mine and other peoples of being ripped off, over charged, cut off without reason, and dealt with the most incompetent people I have ever encountered, and this was before the days of indian call centres. Only reason they survive and will for a time to come is they were once the only provider so the mums and dads, nannas and pops of today think they are the best as it's all they know. You only have to see how fast this thread has grown with negative stories to see how shocking they are amongst today's consumers who do their research and switch to other providers who offer better customer service with more competitive plans. Once the mum's and dad's of today are dead and gone, I think hellstra will struggle to survive.
I agree with you, except for the fact that microsoft products do work reasonably well... and as a Microsoft premium partner (at work) i must admit they do a pretty good job. Their "call centre" staff are actually Level 3 Techs, and will normally sort out major bugs etc within 24 hours (or at least tell you the extact problem, and an have a solution within the week). To the OP, i hate telstra just as much as you. And all i can suggest, is smash something... then spend some time on whirlpool reading the news of whats happened to them in the last few months (excluded from the initial NBN, forced separation etc) Its good to know they are going down the tubes.....
Mum and dad have given them the flick (they just started the last month so there emails overlap) and i'm slowly convincing nana to stop using them aswell haha.
ROFLMAO. If you like blue screens of death, conflicts, an OS that is vulnerable to virus and hacking combined with having to reboot your computer for the stupidest reasons at times. Microshit = epic fail. Just like hellstra they have the monopoly on the market but are in no way the superior OS. Just think, if Bill Gates had got laid in High School we probably wouldn't have winblows :w00t:
must say there arnt the smartest phone and net provider out there but i have paid $50 since ive been connected (13/4/09) and they haven't cut me of yet bill at $750 got the money to pay in full but letting it go to see how high they will let it go b4 i pay then going to pay them out and leave it of and find another provider
But every operating system is vulnerable to viruses, just people don't make viruses for other operating systems, seeming Microsoft has most of the market share, it only makes sense to write your scamming viruses and spyware/adware for a Microsoft operating system. You usually have to reboot your computer after an application has installed and it requires a file to be loaded at startup, or you installed updates, or your windows crashed, pretty valid reasons if you ask me, most of the time you can say no, but if your windows crashes, well can't do much about that, but this is usually related to what i posted below. Most blue screens are from hardware conflicts, i know if i put certain hardware in my machine it will crash, this has nothing to do with windows, it is because who ever made the device, their drivers don't fully support the operating system, or don't fully support compatibility with other hardware, which when making drivers for devices, you could test your device on as much hardware as possible, but once you release it to the world, some one is going to have a hardware conflict with it, not much you can do there. I'm not having a go at you or anything, but everything bad you stated about Microsoft there's a pretty valid explanation for. Every operating system has their problems, it's just that Microsoft's are more noticed, because most of the world is using it.
