hi, my temperature gauge sits on the first mark from cold and stays there, and when you feel the top hose it just feels warm and you can still touch it. is that ok or should it run a bit warner and should you be able to touch the hose or not once its at operating temperature.

also is that why it chews abit of fuel. if not what would cause bad fuel economy to the holdens compared to the fords.

what is the temperature gauge supposed to read. is the first mark from cold ok or should it read a quarter in cool weather and a third when towing and third in summer and half when towing in summer.

my uncles VX in mount barker sits on about a third normally on a average 25+ degree day

Mine sits on about 1/3 except when I'm stuck at the lights for a few minutes on a hot day, then it will go to halfway and the fan kicks in but otherwise sits nicely just above or below the 1/3 mark

What the stuff does a VX and a Magna have to do with your car? If it's not over heating then don't worry about it.
Also don't start with the fuel economy and ford crap again, you have been banned enough times before. Go and buy a freaking Falcon already.
