Hi Folks,
Just joined the list, have already searched "over temp" problems and my gut feeling is the Water Pump may have failed?....I have a 97 VS Series II purchased about 20 months ago after having a VL for 16 years with practically gave me no problems with the engine, now I owe a VS and I've poured so much money into this car its never ending, anyway...I've had the problem of Coolant getting into the engine as evidence of the "coffee coloured" appearance found under the Oil Cap...that's one problem not fixed yet although I have tipped half the contents of "Metallic Seal - Up" into the Radiator that seems to have stopped Coolant getting into the engine, for now, however in these last two days I now have the Temperature scale going sky high in only 20 to 30 minutes of driving, when I come to a stop Coolant is pouring out of the overflow pipe from the reservoir and of course I can hear super heated water boiling through the system, what's going on!...my guess the Water Pump has ceased?
The Car is now 12 years old and has done 275 thousand!...she's old in the tooth!
Ta Thanks
Clint
