    Well what a **** of a day!

Set out to replace the idler pulleys on the engine as they were making a bit of a noise. I thought I'd change the belt as well for good luck :)

Problem started when I undid the tensioner pulley. The bolt came out fine, although there were some metal shavings :( Not thinking much of it I went and replaced all the idlers.

When I put the tensioner pulley on it would not tighten. The thread on the housing was buggered :( (yes I knew it was a left thread).

The bolt appears to be fine, although its the hosuing. Whats the best way to get this fixed? Whats the cost of the whole tensioner and housing :bang:, and does this need to be genuine or are there aftermarket ones?

    Thanks.

I believe you can get them from autobarn/supercheap etc, etc.

The item would probably be called a belt tensioner assembly (minus the pully) failing that get a tap and die set and try to re-thread it, if it's not 200% borked you just may get away with it, if it is 200% borked you would then need an oversized bolt, which wouldn't fit through the pully :(

    keep us posted.
