OCT 2017 VF2 SSV Redline - Light My Fire
I have a series 2 VF Redline and recently looked at the supplied manual to set up receiving text messages on the mylink screen. The manual does not match my options and I could not find a "messages" option.

Is this something they changed on the Series 2 or am I looking in the wrong place ?

Any help appreciated. Thank you.

I receive text messages on Mylink, all I did was pair the phone.

Thank you. I just found a setting about notifications on the iPhone settings on my phone. The manual says that must be on. Will give that a go.

I don't think this is supported with iPhone.

It used to work with my old Samsung Galaxy S4, but not with the iPhone. Similarly the dozen-or-so fixed responses (eg. "I will be there in 10 minutes") don't work with Apple.

What's the setting the manual says needed, relating to Notifications? I thought I'd done everything I could do, but that was 3yrs ago so I've forgotten whatever I tried.

I'm also willing to accept that MyLink's flakiness is the problem & it may work for other cars & other iPhones. :)

Ok... I use Android, Samsung S5 and A30, both just needed pairing.

That’s my understanding too. I have found it works fine with Android phones but I have yet to see it work with an iPhone.

But if anyone has got it working with an iPhone, I’d be very interested to find out how it is done.

Does work, just pair and turn notifications on, on iPhone. Works in mine though hearing texts in that mechanical voice is hilarious.

Yes you need to turn notifications on in the iPhone. The option usually only shows up the second time you go into the Bluetooth settings of the device. The iPhone will then push messages to Mylink. Mylink just doesn't allow you to reply unless you use your voice.

I can confirm it does work! As mentioned above, go to settings, Bluetooth, MyLink, and turn on ‘Show Notifications’...

With an apple device, you can only receive and view messages. You are unable to reply using the set responses, not sure why but it just doesn't work.
