So it appears that making larger screen phones that are durable is possible. Perhaps the choice of chassis material is contributing to the problem?

Ahhh because phones are usually kept in your pocket! :idea3:

it's not the end users fault that the phone will bend so easily. It's a portable device and shouldn't have to be carried around in a suitcase. you can say it's the fault of skinny jeans all you want but fact is nothing else is so **** it is bending in front pockets. watch the bend test videos with your apple goggles off.

No it's not because it's apple. It's because it's been like a week since they've been out and there's already reports of it turning into a banana in peoples pockets. after a few days! that's what all the hype is about. it's a friggen joke really.

If i spent $1000 on something i would expect some quality. anyway they will say something, they have to. There's millions of dollars and millions customers on the line here. and only one eyed apple people like you would buy something that has been proven to be a piece of **** after 3 days.

    Aff FFS...

THE IPHONE 6 PLUS DOES NOT BEND EASILY!!!

YOU HAVE TO DELIBERATELY BE TRYING TO BEND IT USING AS MUCH FORCE AS YOU CAN POSSIBLY CREATE WITH YOUR HANDS!!! THE SAME THING HAPPENS TO ANY LARGE SMART PHONE IF YOU DELIBERATELY TRY TO BEND IT!!!

HOLY CRAP!!! Where can I get pants that can change the molecular make up of inanimate objects into food. Global hunger solved through my pants!

I think you would have to put a lot of pressure on the phone to make it bend , anyway from what I've been led to believe , the problem MAY occur with the larger screen 6 + only .

No it doesn't it stays curved. 1:17 - 1:19 shows it clearly stays curved AND clearly shows him lessening the impact on the eye by reversing the pressure seemingly to un-curve it!

    Open ya f*ckin eyes!

I'm NOT a fanboi. Just a realist with common sense.

Rajesh mate you don't need to be so defensive, tbh I'm glad this came out so early in the 6+'s life, it means that people can be aware of it to avoid the damage and if they genuinely have an issue Apple have actually stated they will replace it which is a positive.

Hoping that Apple take it on board and strengthen the device for a future update removing the risk completely, they aren't perfect as the #antennagate issue taught us. You can see they took this design fopar onboard and now use the same rear housing style as HTC.

crikey mate, it's just a phone!

This says it all about you... You're a f*ckin blind moron with no common sense. I'll cop an infraction for that if it happens. I don't care. In fact I'll report my own post just so the mods know I've done it. I'm just so sick of stupid.

I'm not upset about anything other than wankers like you pretending there's a problem where none exists. Let me bottom line it and I'll try to make it at kindergarten level so you understand...

If you try to bend/break something by using as much force as you possibly can, which is more force than the object is designed to withstand, then you will bend/break it regardless of who makes it.

The Samsung is clearly bent at 1:18 in that video. Why does he try to bend it back at 1:19?

I'm not being defensive. It just pisses me off that so many people are simply STUPID! It's a case of one person does something stupid and the rest of the world's useful idiots jump on the bandwagon because they think it's cool. Nope - they're just dumb.

Indeed, and it returned to it's original shape afterwards or did you miss that bit? :bang: The deformation at the end was very slight (at best) and only a fraction of what happened to the iP6 - I suspect it could have been bent back again although that is pure speculation. Either way the conclusion drawn from the 2 toobs is that if you want a durable strong phone the note3 trumps iP6+ by a big margin.

You must have missed the part where Apple are offering replacements for bent phones after an inspection.

At least they are taking it seriously, being that it's not a widespread issue it might even be a few isolated defects and they are trying to get it sorted early.

Nope - saw that. It's at their sole discretion. Less than 10 reported worldwide. Good on them for helping out stupid people. They can afford it. :D
